NSO Gambling Treatment Program
Reaching out to problem gamblers and their families.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Gambling Treatment Program is to provide comprehensive treatment services to compulsive gamblers and their families. The philosophy of consumer care is based upon consumer participation and decision making.
The Michigan Department of Community Health funds the Gambling Treatment Program. It is a statewide program for compulsive gamblers and their families. Through this program, consumers needing assistance with problem and/or compulsive gambling can receive a referral to a trained treatment provider.
Services
The treatment program involves consumers and their families in a psycho-educational and therapeutic process.

The program objectives and services are:
Comprehensive assessment
Treatment: Individual, group, and family
Individualized treatment approaches
Education regarding the psycho-social effects of problem gambling
Promotion of positive life change and personal growth
Services provided by clinicians trained in the area of problem gambling
Referrals to services required to address consumer need
Specialized trainings for treatment providers
A Speakers Bureau is also available through the program. Through the Speakers Bureau information and education about problem gambling can be provided to the community.
