I'd been shooting dice
since I was a kid. My dad shot dice, my granddad shot dice.
It's just something you do. And I'm competitive, so if someone
came around talking trash, I couldn't walk away. I'd lose $100,
$200, I even lost my jacket once. But the money went to my friends,
so it didn't really feel like gambling.
That all changed after a friend of mine got pulled into a game. Some people he didn't know showed up and started betting big. And you don't walk in the middle of a roll, right? My friend lost so much money that he had to get credit from the other players. The next week, they broke into his parents' house and stole money, his mom's jewelry, you name it. That's when I saw that not being able to turn down a game could get me in deep. |
